The CryoCup Grinder II is an insulated stainless steel mortar and pestle designed for efficient pulverization of frozen plant and animal tissue at liquid nitrogen temperatures. Offers exceptional durability, superior temperature retention, and enhanced performance.
Features solid stainless steel mortar wrapped in silicone insulating sleeve, and is built for years of rigorous milling. Accommodates 100 mg - 10 grams of hard frozen tissue, which is quickly ground to a fine powder using a non-heat conducting plastic pestle. With 7x greater temperature retention than the original, it maintains a stable temperature—rising just 5°C in 30 minutes—allowing for extended milling times, even with tougher tissues.
To use, simply pre-cool the CryoCup Grinder II in a freezer for several hours, then add liquid nitrogen until evaporation ceases or the desired temperature is reached. Once cooled, place your hard frozen sample in the mortar and grind with the hand-held pestle until the sample is sufficiently processed.
